Inter-province exchange vs. internal transfer: what is the difference?

The two kinds of matching differ in range. Inter-province exchange moves you out of the province where you work; internal transfer moves you within it. Either way, a match is only made when you pair one-to-one with a teacher heading in exactly the opposite direction.

What makes a match valid

• Elementary matches with elementary and secondary (middle and high school combined) with secondary, and the subject must be identical.
• Counseling, nutrition, health and library are the exceptions and can match across elementary and secondary.
• When applying you enter preferred area (province + district), preferred school level, subject, first to third choices, and special circumstances (teacher couple, childcare, illness).

Before you apply

Only teachers who have completed employment verification can apply. Submitting your certificate takes 2-3 business days to review, so get verified before the application window opens. Matching runs automatically per round and results are sent by email.
